Bad-dad Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) loves playing favourites. Since Wyatt is (Darin Brooks) riding high with a happy marriage, his tofu-munching brother Liam (Scott Clifton) is given the brushoff by the red-blooded Spencer bulls in the boardroom on Friday 21 July. Bill has also directly ordered Liam not to chase after Wyatt’s wife Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) for the sake of family harmony, so Liam is appalled at Bill kissing wife Katie’s (Heather Tom) sister Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) in his “nap room” on Wednesday 26 July.
Bill is completely unrepentant when Liam confronts him on Thursday 27 July. “You’re not the leader you pretend to be. You’re not the man we all think you are, you hypocrite,” Liam sneers. “I listened to your big, long speech about family comes first and marriage vows are sacred. It was the same day that I found your ‘napping room’.” And he isn’t done: “You’ve been lying to Katie this whole time. Making her think she’s the problem, making her think that her fears are irrational.” Disgusted by Bill’s double standards, Liam holds up his Spencer sword pendant to Bill and tells him, “You don’t live up to this!”
Since Bill clearly has no functioning conscience, Liam marches off to confront the weaker link – Brooke – on Friday 28 July. He begs her to tell Katie the truth and stop torturing her because Katie now believes that she is either crazy and paranoid, or Bill and Brooke are lying to her face. Liam’s mission becomes more urgent on Monday 31 July when a tearful Katie rocks up on his doorstep begging for a drink because nobody is telling her the truth. And if Bill and Brooke don’t confess on Tuesday 1 August, Liam will blow them out of the water. NB! See more on p28.
