Season 3 of Teen Wolf (2011-current) isn’t just bigger with 24 episodes, it’s also got a bigger cast list. And one of the names that’s impossible to ignore is Sinqua Walls. The 32-year-old is playing bad-boy Beta wolf Boyd and Sinqua jokes that “I’m a softie, but I’ve got the physicality to be the guy you don’t want to meet in an alleyway”.
1 He admits that if acting hadn’t worked out, “I’d probably have gone into the NBA.” Sinqua was an all-star basketball player through out college at Cal Poly.
2 Despite his on-field talent, Sinqua had wanted to be an actor since he was 11 and says that he memorised his favourite movie The Red Flyer after watching the fantasy drama for the first time in 1992.
3 Acting and sport aren’t the only things he’s good at: he was a published poet by the time he turned 20 and taught himself to play the guitar.
4 Something he’s really proud of is being one of the only black actors to play Sir Lancelot – he portrayed the role in fantasy series Once Upon A Time (2011-current) until 2015.
5 Before Teen Wolf and Once Upon A Time, Sinqua had appeared in sport-themed series Friday Night Lights (2006-2011), which he loved “because I got to do all my character Jamarcus’s basketball stunts [Laughs].”
6 What he doesn’t miss about Teen Wolf is the make-up. “We used to spend like two hours a morning getting make-up done. That is too much time!”
7 As for fan moments, he felt let down when “we went off the set still with our ears and contacts on. No one said a thing. It’s LA, just another weird guy in a weird costume.”
