Sakhile learns that the grass isn’t always greener when he leaves wife Dineo for his mistress Funeka

Loving two women is driving Sakhile (Solomon Sebothoma) insane as season 1 of Mina Nawe (2017-current) draws to a close. He’s moved back home with his meddling mom Lizzie (Thuli Monica Zulu) on Sunday 23 July to figure out his next move, but “Sakhile is crazy confused,” laughs Solomon. He’s stuck between losing his happy family with Dineo (Sibusisiwe Jili) and getting to date his high school sweetheart and feisty mistress Funeka (Tango Ncetezo). “He has built a stable home with Dineo but Funeka is the love of his life. Sakhile wants the chance to explore that,” explains Solomon.

But Sakhile’s decision gets harder when he learns that Funeka may skip town for good. He sweet-talks her in the hopes that she’ll stay and explore the romance that they’ve always dreamt about. “It’s a lot harder than he thought,” laughs Solomon. “Funeka is unpredictable and Sakhile is desperate for the chance to prove how he feels despite the fact that he as a wife at home…”

By Sunday 30 July, Dineo is tired of waiting for her delinquent hubby and her rage ignites when her mother-inlaw Lizzie suggests that she “just be patient”. Although Sakhile married Dineo, Funeka’s always been his first choice, explains Solomon. “Funeka left for the city to work [after high school] and Dineo was pregnant. They want to pick up where they left off when they were young.” But there’s something else that Sakhile hasn’t taken into account: Funeka now isn’t the Funeka he fell for. “She is a 21st-century woman,” jokes Solomon. “Unlike Dineo, Funeka does not like walking around barefoot in the kitchen. She does not like to take the backseat – ever. Sakhile slowly realises that he misses his simpler life back home,” says Solomon. So now he has his cake and can eat it, “But he’s unsure of where he stands,” adds the actor. “Things will become clear, but there will be a lot of drama first!”
