Ridge decides to set Caroline free to be with Thomas… whether she wants him or not.

New mom Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) is thrilled when her hubby Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) romances her with a dinner date at home on Thursday 17 August. Amid all the drama about revealing baby Douglas’s (Abigail and Brielle Rivera) paternity, they haven’t had much time together lately. But just after Caroline promises Ridge, “I’m yours forever,” he turns the tables with a dish not on the menu – divorce!
PIGGY IN THE MIDDLE
Ridge pulls away after flashing back to Caroline’s tearful, screaming admission that his son Thomas (Pierson Fodé) is their baby’s biological father. Thorsten says that on Friday 18 August “it’s not that he has fallen out of love with her, Ridge is trying to do the right thing by her. He’s not over her. It should come across as a huge sacrifice on his part. Ridge feels that Thomas and Caroline should be together since that’s what’s best for the baby”. Ridge tells Caroline, “You have got to know that there isn’t a man in this world that loved you more than I did. And there never will be. But you and Thomas, you have a connection that is only going to grow more. That is great for Douglas. Not so great for me. ’Cause I can’t fight that.”
SAYING GOODBYE
Caroline gently admits, “If we’re being honest, it hasn’t been the same since I got pregnant.” And with tears in their eyes, the pair join hands over one last design sketch together and flash back through their romantic moments since that first irresistible connection they shared while drawing together in September 2015 while Ridge was recovering from falling out of Bill’s (Don Diamont) helicopter. Now Ridge is free and, coincidentally, so is his lifelong love Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). Of course that latent attraction to his son’s babymama won’t be a problem again. “Who knows what is going on in his head,” jokes Thorsten.
