Maurice Paige has swapped soapies and his character Tyron is butting heads as the noisy neighbour on Suidooster.

You haven’t tuned into the wrong channel or show. That really is buff Maurice Paige flexing his muscles on Afrikaans soapie Suidooster, having hit pause on his Isidingo role – Maurice has played TV exec Calvin Xavier since 2009. But from Wednesday 16 August, the 34-year-old will be taking up the role of Suidooster newcomer Tyron Daniels.
Tyron doesn’t get off to a good start with his neighbour Mrs J (Theresa Sedras) does he? Nope [Laughs]. Tyron moves into Oom Fasie’s (Johan Botha) house that he’s renting from Suidooster Properties. Unlike Fasie, who had a friendship with Mrs J, Tyron is a lot younger and rough around the edges. He’s also a genius with cars and maybe his mechanic work is a bit too noisy…
So does this mean you’ve left Isidingo? I live in the Cape and I’m part of Suidooster’s permanent cast now. At the moment, Calvin isn’t part of the storylines on Isidingo, but that doesn’t mean he’s never returning. We couldn’t help but notice that Tyron
has a sort of bond with Wade (Dean John Smith), the new guy at the juicebar. That’s actually part of a secret and I’m not allowed to explain things. But I can tell you that they’re both in for a shock.
And will your character be charming the ladies in Ruiterbosch? Things are going to be quiet for a while [Laughs]. But Tyron is going to ruffle a few feathers – especially with Mrs J’s daughter LeeAnn (Portia Joel) when he tries to bury the hatchet with Mrs J and Lee-Ann thinks he’s flirting with her mom.
Wade’s girlfriend Zoe (Lauren Joseph) also takes a bit of a disliking to Wade and Tyron hanging out on Monday 28 August… Zoe feels that Wade is pushing her to the side and spending too much of “her” time with Tyron. And she also doesn’t understand how they’re so comfy as friends because there’s such a large age gap between younger Wade and older Tyron.
