Game of Thrones
Season 7 Mondays M-Net (*101) 21:30 (Express 03:00) Fantasy
Winter has come to season 7 of fantasy series Game Of Thrones (2011-current). The shortened season ends tonight and while the script and episode were still under lock and key when tvplus went to print, there have been more than enough talking points, twists and turns over the past seven episodes, like…
Episode 1 (17 July) saw The Mother Of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) arriving at Dragonstone with her army, fire-breathing dragons and in the mood for a fight. She didn’t sail across the world just to take back her family home – she wants the Iron Throne and Lannister blood in season 8. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) was at her vengeful best in episode 1 when she posed as Stark enemy Walder Frey (David Bradley), who she’d killed last season, and poisoned everyone in his family. Not bad payback for the Freys’ betrayal of her family in the infamous Red Wedding episode from season 3 (2013) . Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) spent the season plotting revenge for her family’s downfall, especially her youngest son Tommen’s (Dean-Charles Chapman) suicide at the end of season 6. What she didn’t know was that her brother-lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) learnt in episode 2 who’d poisoned their son Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) in season 4 (2014): “sweet old lady” Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg). And Jon Snow (Kit Harington) met with Daenerys in the hopes of forming an alliance. Did we mention that they two don’t know yet that they’re related?
The Mother Of Dragons is on a mission!
