Dominic Purcell takes centre stage in rebooted action series Prison Break (2005-current) as brawny brother Lincoln Burrows. He’s on a mission to save his brainy brother Michael (Wentworth Miller) but that’s something Dominic wouldn’t be able to do in real life. “Just filming this season, I slashed open my elbow, I chipped teeth, I broke my nose and I cut open my eye. I’d never make a great prison break!” he says.

Don’t be fooled by the 47-year1

old’s accent – he’s British born and Australian raised. His family settled in New South Wales when he was two but he loves going back to his mom Mary’s native Ireland “whenever I can”.

Unlike the first four seasons of the 2

show, this time round it’s Lincoln who’s covered in tattoos – and none of them are fake, like Michael’s full-body inkwork. “They’re all mine,” Dominic laughs, “so my time in the make-up chair is just for my pretty face.”

His broken bones, cuts and scrapes 3

during filming were all from one accident, when he was hit with an iron bar. He spent a few days in hospital in Morocco before returning to the set.

Dominic’s love-life has been as up 4

and down as his stunt work – he split from first wife Rebecca Williamson in 2008 after ten years and four kids, and he’s been on-off dating AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi in 90210, 2008-2013) since 2011. More off than on though…

He studied acting with Hugh Jack5

man (Wolverine in the X-Men films, 2000-current) but didn’t finish his classes. “The beach, surfing and babes were more appealing,” he laughs.

And while Dominic still surfs while 6

at home in LA, he prefers to stay in shape with boxing and yoga.
