You make your bed and then you have to lie on it, but if there are three in the bed, it’s going to be all elbows in your ear and cold feet kicking you in the night. Lately, Siseko Langa (Hlomla Dandala) never knows what he’ll find at home, thanks to his feuding wives Boniswa (Lusanda Mbane) and Yvonne (Kgomotso Christopher). Anything could happen: shocking confessions, cheating accusations, nagging, crying, bickering, pouting, sulking, moaning, seducing, spying, tantrum throwing…. It’s all a bit much and on Wednesday 8 December it will prove too much for Siseko. What have the wives done now?
KISSING CATCHERS
This week it’s not a blackmail and murder cover-up. Siseko’s wives have cooked up a brand-new shocker. We’ve been watching Damon Bradbury (Craig Urbani) buzzing around Boniswa and Yvonne like a bee gathering deliciously dirty honey. On Thursday 2 November, Siseko seethed when he was shown a photograph of Yvonne kissing her ex-fiancé Damon. “When the photo
arrived, there’d been a lull in the fights between his two wives. He was quite upset that his already challenging marriage was being put under this strain unnecessarily,” reveals Hlomla. Then on Tuesday 7 November, Yvonne struck back when she showed Siseko something far more shocking: a photo of Boniswa and Damon involved in what appeared to be a gentle and heartfelt kiss of their own.
PIGGY IN THE MIDDLE
Scandal! fans have been excitedly waiting for this to explode ever since Damon offered to help Boniswa by seducing Yvonne for her Friday 27 October and he hinted to Boniswa that she was just the sort of woman he fancied on Tuesday 31 October. Damon also admitted to Boniswa that he has feelings for her when he handed her a sneak recording of him stealing that allimportant Yvonne kiss on Wednesday 1 November. And Boniswa and Damon shared a kiss of their own on Thursday 2 November before she trotted off to show Siseko the incriminating photo, unaware that Yvonne had been watching her too. Damon’s betrayal shocks Siseko. “It is gut-wrenching. He is aware that Damon feels an outstanding grudge against him but he never thought that Damon would use his wives to get to him. Especially Boniswa – given that she is not part of this scheming world,” Hlomla explains.
IT TAKES TWO (MAYBE THREE)
On Wednesday 8 November, while Damon is romancing Boniswa again, Siseko looks back over the past months and picks out a common factor in all the bitterness and bickering. “He’s not at the stage where he can apportion blame just yet. All that he is feeling is heartbreak and a deep disappointment. To deal with this, Siseko retreats to his comfort zone – the court room – dealing with the situation as he would any criminal investigation,” says Hlomla. He makes a major decision about this mess of a marriage and after staging a dramatic scene on Wednesday, Siseko secretly tasks his assistant Dambisa (Khanyisa Bunu) with spying on his wives on Thursday 9 November. It’s a bold move but on Friday 10 November Boniswa and Yvonne finally agree on something! That’s good news and bad news. Dambisa reports to Siseko, that the “something” has to do with keeping him in the dark. Uh oh.
