“Yvonne spent the best part of 2017 trying to get out of trouble,” laughs Kgomotso Christophe­r. And she is right – viewers have been watching her weasel her way from one tricky situation to the next without losing a lash. But we’re about to see something very different. “This is one plan she did not put into action,” Kgomotso hints. “She wants to be the Devil In Prada who can hang around with big dogs like Neo (Jerry Mofokeng Wa Makhetha), but she’s a softie.” What could have dear Yvonne in such a tizz? It starts at a high-stakes poker game at The Newtonian on Wednesday 3 January… and the tiniest misunderst­anding.

HIGH STAKES

Yvonne has been asked to play a double game. On the surface, she is simply playing poker with a handful of a high-level crimeboss’s key employees. The card up her sleeve is that Yvonne is meant to be checking them out to see whether one has turned on their boss – and it’s not Neo. It’s someone Neo is a little afraid of. Talk about high stakes! On Wednesday 3 January, the man at Yvonne’s table is Michael “The Facilitato­r” De Wet (Luke Rous). “She doesn’t have a clue as to what The Facilitato­r does at all,” explains Kgomotso. “He is a contradict­ion when you see him physically. Yvonne comments to Neo at one stage, ‘That guy was such a nerd!’”

POKING FUN

Part of Yvonne’s game is to get Michael to relax and open up to her and as they play, they start chatting about their lives. “They have a little moment where they start to talk about real things and, from Yvonne’s side, about her marital issues with Boniswa (Lusanda Mbane).” Michael proves to be a sympatheti­c listener. “It’s nothing deep
