Season 14 M-Net (*101) 19:00 & 20:00 Drama

Season 14 of Grey’s Anatomy (2005-current) launches with a double episode tonight and actress Camilla Luddington (Dr Jo Wilson) vows that we are in for a “lighter, funnier and sexier” season. Happily, the first two episodes deliver that, while setting up some intriguing situations going into the season…

Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) sister 1

Megan Hunt (Abigail Spencer) was saved after ten years in a hostage camp at the end of season 13 (May 2017) and that is huge news for Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) lover and Megan’s ex-fiancé Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson). The first thing Megan does is tease Owen, so we like her. Owen’s friend-with-feelings Teddy (Kim Raver) is back, which is hard luck for his wife Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), who could lose a husband and gain a brain tumour. Riggs will also make a huge decision in episode 5 (on 5 Feb) – but a good one. “I loved that we were able to give Riggs a happy ending,” says creator Shonda Rhimes.

After her heroics in the season 13 2

finale, we said bye to Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) and that leaves Jo in need of a new BFF, but not a new boyfriend because she has Alex (Justin Chambers). “There’s joy and romance. These characters really earned this,” says co-executive producer Krista Vernoff. Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) is single and looking to mingle, possibly with DeLuca’s (Giacomo Gianniotti) sister Carina (Stefania Spampinato), who’s at Grey’s researching female pleasure.

And episode 7 (19 Feb) will be 3

the show’s 300th overall. It has a rollercoaster crash and, in a bit of a tease, some lookalikes of the original cast. It might just be worth the fourmonth wait for local Grey’s fans.
