“You are not going to believe what we are doing! I didn’t!” says Jaimie Alexander. Season 3 of Blindspot (2015- current) sees her character Jane Doe get “new” tattoos despite already being covered from headto-toe in ink. Jane’s original tattoos

A HELPING HAND

(which are mostly stickers that take hours to apply to Jaimie) light up near a special piece of technology to reveal “entirely new patterns and secrets. Jane is back at square one and has to restart her quest to find out who she really is,” laughs Jaimie. “Here we go again!” The new season has been doubly helpful to Jaimie. The bioluminescent tats are 100% computer generated added in post-production, “So there’s no extra time in the make-up chair,” she laughs. Jaimie also got more insight how Jane has changed between seasons thanks to flashbacks. Season 3 is set two years after season 2 ended (in May 2017) and “a lot has gone on,” she says. Episode 1’s flashback reveals that Jane married her FBI agent partner Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) but left him when assassins came after them. “And that’s where it gets fun…” adds Jaimie.

ONE BIG UNHAPPY FAMILY

There’s still a lot of feelings between Jane and Kurt, “But it’s strictly business for now,” warns the actress. They head to Venice, Italy where Jane fakes her death to find the person responsible for her glowing tattoos, her brother Roman (Luke Mitchell). The mysterious character is going to spend the season manipulating both Jane and Kurt “because there is a lot more to the ex-husband and wife than even they realise, teases Jaimie.
