Top Billing Season 28 Saturdays (from 17 February) SABC3 (*193) 18:00

Thursday-night social show Top Billing (1992- current) is moving to Saturday evenings from the start of its 28th season on Saturday 17 February. And with an earlier timeslot of 18:00 (it used to air at 20:30 on Thursdays), viewers can tune in for glam inspiration while you get ready to go out on the town. “This is the year of celebrating weekends and making the most of every moment, says co- creator and producer Patience Stevens. “What better time to celebrate the best of the good life than a Saturday evening, when Top Billing viewers have the time to relax and to enjoy?”

While contemplating the big move, Top Billing checked in with its audience on social media to ask what they really wanted from the show. “Most fans have been watching the show for at least 10 years and know exactly what they want: more adventure and local travel, more traditional weddings and more weddings with unusual themes,” says Patience. “And Saturday night is the movie night on SABC3, so we will be linking into the movies on SABC3 – and on circuit [at cinemas].”

PLACES TO GO…

Looking ahead for March, April and May, Patience reveals the following save-the-date features abroad and at home that viewers “can’t miss”: February “Jonathan is attending the 68th Berlin International Film Festival (his interviews be broadcast in March). Top Billing will also showcase the best looks from The Sun Met 2018 race day.” March “We will be featuring our trip to Moçambique with track athlete Caster Semenya and her wife Violet Raseboya. We are visiting a luxury lodge in the Kruger with actress Sophie Ndaba (Queen Moroka in Generations, 1994-2014) and her new husband Max Lichaba, and we explore a hideaway in the Western Cape with runner Ryan Sandes and his wife Vanessa.” April “We’re planning to visit Canada, and SA Fashion Week will be a significant feature as we highlight the success of local designers.
