The love doctor is in
Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler are ringing it.
The Big Bang Theory Season 11 Wednesdays (from 14 February) M-Net (*101) 19:00
Dr Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) is engaged… almost! He’s still waiting for an answer after proposing in May 2017 to person-who-putsup-with-him Dr Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) of The Big Bang Theory (2007- current). And as season 11 starts, Sheldon is going to learn (with some help from real-life theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking) that he can’t be the centre of any universe, not even Amy’s.
AMY ON TOP
In fact, Sheldon might have to accept that he won’t even be the scientific top dog in his marriage. “What we’ve been reading in the science world is that neuroscience is a really hot field right now. It’s getting a lot of funding. Physics is on a bit of a stall. Sheldon is having to deal with a partner who may be more of a science celeb than he is,” says new exec producer Steve Holland.
DILLY DALLY
Don’t think that Sheldon is giving Amy control over the wedding – oh no, he has to be in charge of that! They don’t even have a date yet (that happens in episode 9 – 11 April). “Sheldon, in his excitement to make the wedding as perfect as he can, takes over and tries to overthink every decision, so planning a wedding with Sheldon is going to be complicated,” explains Steve. “The planning will run through the season and it’s possible we could see it at the end of the season.” We will be biting our nails in anticipation – as will Mayim. “If our writers decide to do a wedding, there will absolutely be Klingons, maybe Stormtrooper costumes. If we do it, it it would be geek to the max!”
