When Tshidi (Letoya Makhene) bought a one-way ticket to Dubai in August 2017, she swore that she would never return. But she’s left without a choice on Wednesday 28 February when her ailing mother Zondiwe (Abigail Kubeka) begs her over the phone to come home. “Tshidi doesn’t want anything to do with Joburg,” says Letoya. Tshidi thinks that her gangster ex-husband Gadaffi (Vuyo Dabula) wants her dead after she stole his money in May last year. “Zondiwe tells Tshidi that Gadaffi has long moved on with his life and doesn’t care about the missing money. Tshidi is thrilled and she makes her way back later that day to take reclaim her advertising company #hashtag World,” adds Letoya. As Zondiwe assured her daughter, Gadaffi has moved on with other projects and he has hired her brother Tau (Rapulana Seiphemo) to run #hashtag World as a moneylaundering cover for their illegal activities. “Tshidi is back,” says Letoya defiantly. “She’s here to grab her company and get rid of the men!”

GIVE IT BACK

The ad company isn’t Tshidi’s though – Gadaffi bought it from her in early 2017 when it was declared bankrupt but they have a private agreement that Tshidi would continue running it with Gadaffi as a silent investor. Tshidi visits the offices on Monday 5 March and while skimming through the books, she spots that her ex and brother are using the company to hide money. “Tshidi is furious! She thought that they were done with the crime world, but they clearly aren’t and they’re putting #hashtag in jeopardy,” says Letoya. But just like always, the pair cosy up to her.

TO PAY OR NOT TO PAY

Tau and Gadaffi sweet-talk Tshidi and offer her the COO position as well as a massive payout on Monday 5 March. But she doesn’t want to be part of the illegal schemes. It’s not what she’s here for, adds Letoya. “Tshidi will not be bought that easily! She built #hashtag from the ground-up and although Gadaffi helped save it, she won’t stand on the sidelines while her company is used for illegal dealings. She wants to buy Gadaffi out and run it like she did: clean,” adds the actress. Not even Tau pleading on hands and knees later that day will change her mind. “And she is willing to do what it takes to snatch back #hashtag World,” warns Letoya
