Legal dramedy Suits (2011-current) is losing more than just Rachel Zane when actress Meghan Markle departs from the show at the end of season 7 to marry Britain’s Prince Harry – Rachel’s fiancé Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) is leaving too. And that’s a problem, since fans have thrived on the bromance between Mike and slick lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). “There is always a fear of disappointing fans when you decide to leave. Just because this is the end for me and Mike doesn’t mean that there won’t be more for Suits to do long after I’ve left the show. It’s just not right for me to stay from here on out,” confesses Patrick.

Quitting the show was easier for the actor than his co-star, whom he says “is in this surreal, crazy world – she is becoming a royal!” Did you know that Meghan had a body double for the past two seasons while she was in the UK with her future hubby? Nicky Bursic tweeted in November 2017 that “it has been an absolute pleasure and honour as your ‘STAND-IN’”, while production house USA Network broke the news in a statement thanking Meghan for her dedication and hard work.

What can fans expect? Besides what Patrick calls “an epic season finale (episode 16 on 3 May), there’ll be a lot more of lawyer Alex Williams now that Dulé Hill is a series regular. And Harvey will need consolation now that he’s been abandoned – episode 10 ended with a smooch from his secretary Donna (Sarah Rafferty), “So I guess that Darvey [Donna-Harvey] is moving somewhere,” teases Gabriel.
