Zoe is ready to name and shame her businessman father Michael, even if it costs her their relationship.

In order to bring down corrupt businessman Jack Mabaso (Vusi Kunene), investigative journalist Zoe (Schelaine Bennett) has to include her entrepreneur dad Michael (Terence Bridgett) in her article on Wednesday 11 April. While her plans were to keep her dad’s name from the story, she is forced to include him in her research after Michael went behind his board of directors’ backs and gave Jack a huge chunk of money in late March for Jack’s land development project. Michael has built a good name for himself since moving into town in February this year and he believes that Zoe’s article could ruin everything that he’s worked hard for,” says Schelaine. “Zoe believes in telling her readers the truth, even if that means tearing her family apart at the seams.”
UP IN ARMS
Michael was coerced into giving jack the money for the land scheme, “But unlike her father, Zoe is incorruptible. She continues to work on her article despite threats from Jack and harassment,” adds the actress. Zoe does the “decent thing” and gives her dad the heads-up on Thursday 12 April that he is named and shamed in the article and he blows a fuse, reveals Schelaine. “He demands that she take his name out before it’s sent to the printers, but she refuses to budge. She has a duty to be honest with the public. Besides, it’s too late. She sent it earlier that day.”
THE LAST STRAW
“Zoe has tried to turn a blind eye to her dad’s decision to be associated with Jack, but she can see what the pressure of working with the criminal has done to Michael,” says Schelaine. Recovering alcoholic Michael has been tempted to pick up the bottle again while battling his work demons, “But he is slowly turning into another kind of monster,” warns Schelaine. Michael lashes out at her on Monday 16 April again and their fight ends with “them both saying things that can’t be taken back. Zoe moves out and heads off to work on another article about her dad and Jack,” says Schelaine. But Michael won’t let her go that easily…
