Relic Hunter

-

Season 2 (Weekdays) SABC3 (*193) 12:00 Action

Lindy Booth has smartened up her act during her career. When viewers met her in action show Relic Hunter (19992002), she was a clueless bimbo admin assistant named Claudia, but nowadays she’s better known as universe-saving magician maths genius Cassandra in sci-fi action series The Librarians (2015current; weekdays, 06:15 and 01:00 on Universal Channel, *117). And that isn’t all that’s changed: Lindy has gone from strawberry blonde to “fiery, flaming redhead,” laughs Lindy.

1 The Canadian actress is a natural redhead but jokes that her shade of hair scares off suitors: “I’m single and I don’t know if that will change. I don’t know if I want it to change. But guys seem scared of little old me.”

2 While she doesn’t call it “being typecast”, Lindy admits that she’s mostly only offered sci-fi roles. “That’s okay – it’s more than okay. It means I’m doing something right. Although it’s always fun doing comedy and a bit of drama,” says the 38-year-old.

3 She starred in Disney’s kid show The Famous Jett Jackson (1998-current) at the same time as Relic Hunter and considers Jett as her break into the TV world – and she’s ready for a reboot cameo “should it ever happen”.

4 Lindy wanted to be a playwright growing up and forced her sister to act out her plays. These days, it’s her dad that Lindy needs to worry about: “He’s so cute. He asks me before the episode or my movies, ‘Are you going to die? Because I can’t watch that!’”

5 And while Lindy can’t do even the most basic of magic tricks, there’s one she wishes she could do: posting to her social media accounts. “I’m terrible at that stuff,” says Lindy. “I wish I could wave a wand and it’s just done.”
