Skhalo wants to avenge his dad’s murder by killing Getty.

New sangoma Getty’s (Andisiwe Dweba) nightmares have only just begun. She felt “cleansed” on Tuesday 17 April after telling her loanshark Bra Pops’s (Thulane Kubheka) family that she is to blame for his unsolved 2015 murder despite her sister Lucy (Manaka Ranaka) being the real killer, having stabbed Pops during an attack on Getty. But while Getty feels happy with her actions, the truth is bringing her more trouble on Wednesday 25 April in the form of Pops’ son Skhalo (Wiseman Ncube). “Skhalo wants revenge. Getty must pay for what she did! He’s angry and still grieving,” fumes Wiseman. And Skhalo is going to put her through the same trauma as his father experienced: a slow and painful death.
ON THE LOOKOUT
Getty’s connection to the ancestors saved her on Wednesday 18 April when she was alerted to Skhalo’s scheme in a vision. “She saw how he planned his revenge,” says Wiseman. “Skhalo is adamant about stabbing her to death.” Wiseman reveals that Skhalo’s motivation is two-fold: “According to him, Getty treated his father like a dog by throwing his body in the veld with no answers for his family. While she has always wanted to tell his family the truth, she chose to hide it until the ceremony to lay his spirit to rest was over. What makes Skhalo so angry is that she waited until her interests were served – and for that, she has to pay!”
READY FOR WAR
After another vision, Getty begs Skhalo to let things be on Tuesday 1 May, only to be met with a blunt “you’re going to die!” Wiseman adds that “Bra Pops was Skhalo’s hero. Losing him shattered Skhalo’s world, forcing him to grow up too young and become the head of the family without any training”. When she realises that even the ancestors can’t calm Skhalo, Getty turns her back on her sangoma duties and blames it for her trouble. But more is to come, adds Wiseman. “Getty lived happily while Skhalo’s family suffered. Getty has to feel that same pain. He owes it to his father and his family.”
