On Thursday 10 May, Victor’s (John Aniston) nemesis Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) contacts him with an intriguing offer: “I don’t need to remind you that we have a common enemy, hmmm?” Stefano hints. They most certainly do! The Kiriakis and DiMera clans have it in for Clyde Weston (James Read) – the man who had Stefano’s beloved son and heir EJ (James Scott) murdered in December 2017; the very same man who tried to have Victor’s grandson Sonny (Freddie Smith) murdered on Thursday 5 April. But instead of striking out at Clyde, the scheming duo is targeting his lover Kate (Lauren Koslow).

TRICKY TRICKY

Victor purposefully tells Kate about Stefano’s call and also alerts her to a devilishly sweet deal with a company that she can snap up ahead of Salem’s business sharks. In exchange for the information, Victor wants Kate to sign over a chunk of the DiMera Enterprises profits to him. But both Stefano and Victor expertly play games and make it impossible for Kate to keep her eye on the ball. Just when she thinks that she’s going to present the DiMera board members with her triumph on Tuesday 15 May, she finds out that the “amazing” offer is anything but true. And as before, she’s thrown out of the boardroom on Wednesday 16 May and the board unanimously reinstates Stefano as CEO in her place.

KATE WANTS REVENGE

Both old men have had their fun – we’ll never get tired of Stefano conducting imaginary operas while scheming, or of Victor’s evil laugh. But they had better watch their backs now, hints Lauren. “Aside from the Kate-Stefano drama, she has worked so hard to get to that [CEO] position and she’s doing a good job. It’s what she’s always wanted. Now because of this stuff (between her and Clyde) and her past (with Stefano), she is going to lose it all. Kate should be running things. She got the company running efficiently. She’s earned it!”
