From rags to riches
Megan wants control of her life back, even if it means making her husband-to-be Kyle look like an idiot to the world.
The Arrangement Season 2 Sundays (from 13 May) Vuzu (*116) 21:00
It wasn’t a hard choice in season 1 of The Arrangement (2017- current) for struggling actress Megan (Christine Evangelista) to sign a marriage contract that also earned her a job. The new man on her arm is Hollywood A-list actor Kyle (Josh Henderson, John Ross Ewing III in the Dallas reboot, 2012-2014) who is giving her $10 million dollars to be his wife. “But everything comes with a catch,” teases Christine. That catch was that Megan isn’t going to be loved like a wife – she just needs to be the perfect bride when the cameras are watching. There was nothing she could do about that in the first season. But this time is different…
FAKE IT ’TIL YOU MAKE IT
“Megan always wanted to be a proper wife and a proper actress,” explains Christine. “She didn’t think that she’d be tied to a cult like The Institute Of The Higher Mind (IMH) or that IMH’s leader Terence (Michael Vartan, Michael Vaughn on action series Alias 20012006) would control her life. “Megan and Kyle have their own relationship issues even though it isn’t your normal relationship,” adds Josh. We pick up the drama with the couple planning their wedding because, well, the show must go on. “But Kyle is oblivious to Megan wanting to shut down IMH. He doesn’t see it for what it is – a group of fanatics – so he doesn’t realise that he’s in his bride-to-be’s firing line.” While Megan has got to bide her time, there’s still that not-so-little wedding… but that’s okay, laughs Christine. “Megan is an actress. She can put on a show. Luckily they have chemistry and their ‘relationship’ works.”
REBIRTH & REDIRECTION
It’s not just Megan and Josh who’re having a rough relationship ride in the second season. Terence and his movieproducer wife DeAnn (Lexa Doig) hit the skids in episode 1. “I think everyone is aware that they have an agreement of their own in terms of extramarital dalliances,” says Lexa. “We will see a whole other side of DeAnn when one ‘dalliance’ gets emotional – and that’s a no-no in terms of her and Terence’s deal.” Does that mean they’re divorcing? “Not at all,” protests Lexa. “Their relationship is like caring for a pet scorpion. She cares though…”
