Everyone thought they’d seen the last of troublemaker Meme (Tsholofelo Matshaba) when she left town in 2013. But she waltzed back onto Muvhango screens on Monday 7 May and immediately got under the skin of businessman KK (MacDonald Ndou) the wrong way. “And for good reason,” says Tsholofelo. “Back in 2011, Meme was in an abusive relationship with KK. She left him in 2012 and got into a relationship with Pheko (Rapulana Seiphemo), which led to their engagement. That didn’t work out either thanks to some nasty blackmailing and Meme fled the country in fear for her life.” Meme is back and she hasn’t only got a thicker skin, warns Tsholo, “She wants revenge and she wants her abuser to apologise!”

ONCE BITTEN, TWICE SHY

Sensing the change in his ex, KK isn’t sure if he should try broker peace. “He is scared,” reveals MacDonald. “Their history consists of violence and abuse, even though for KK, it was done in the name of love.” The actor adds that KK isn’t going to get away so easily this time because “Meme knows his every move. She’s like a mirror image of him and knows how he thinks”.

DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE

Thinking that he can manipulate Meme again, KK flirts with her on Wednesday 16 May unaware of her attack plan, laughs Tsholo. “She seduces him and he falls for it.” MacDonald gushes that “KK crumbles. She looks refined and sexy and he gives in to her charm” and KK even professes his love for Meme on Thursday 17 May. Tsholo says that her character has never seen this side of KK but she doesn’t lose focus on Tuesday 22 May when he apologises for the hell he put her through in the past. “Meme isn’t stupid. She is nobody’s fool and won’t let KK get into her head”. But what if he’s being honest and trying to repent? It may be too little, too late…
