Convicted murderer Lincoln Sibeko (Lindani Nkosi) was released at the end of April, but being back in town isn’t what’s got people talking, teases the actor. “Lincoln was released on a judge’s decision, but let’s be clear: he hasn’t been acquitted of murdering his wife Katlego (Kgomotso Christopher, in April 2016). Lincoln claims that he has changes his ways since being in prison.” And this change was apparent from Friday 4 May when Lincoln invited his enemies Nina and Gabriel (Khabonina Qubeka and Aubrey Poo) for dinner. While they feared the worst, Lindani explains that the pair were never in danger when they left the table on Monday 7 May. “Lincoln is renewed and he wants to ‘make things right’ in a peaceful way.”

KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE…

Don’t think that the businessman has forgiven and forgotten, warns Lindani. “He’s playing a psychological game for sure, rather than a physical one. Lincoln knows exactly who betrayed him and his family while he was in prison and he knows what has been happening with his daughter Nikiwe (Linda Sokhulu) being drugged by Nina and Gabriel [since January].” That’s why he had them over for dinner, to say that “I don’t want to fight and I don’t want revenge; let us fix things.” Someone else who’s part of Lincoln’s plans is Nikiwe’s bestie Benjamin (Arno Marais), who gets what he’s been begging for on Wednesday 9 May: the CEO position of Sibeko Gold. “Lincoln is no fool and knows what he’s doing,” adds Lindani. “He knows how to manipulate his pawns like Benjamin, Nina and Gabriel even though they aren’t aware of it.” Benjamin even thanks Lincoln for helping him and considers it “Lincoln being loyal” on Thursday 17 May, not realising that he’s helping Lincoln with something bigger.

THE DEEP’S NEW MR MEAN

While Barker Haines (Robert Whitehead) is officially dead and no longer The Deep’s top baddie, Lindani isn’t sure that his character will take that job. “The potential is there. Right now, Lincoln wants to fix the problems with his family and business and just get things in a good place. It’s early stages, but the potential is there…”
