Zweli finds out his Mrs is a monster!
Hlomla Dandala reveals why Zweli becomes a changed man in his marriage after catching a glimpse of the real Lindiwe.

Loving and supportive husband and business partner Zweli (Hlomla Dandala) is in uncharted waters after discovering that his wife Lindiwe not only knew that their son Andile (Lunga Mofokeng) was gay, she forced him into marrying his wealthy “girlfriend” Faith (Anele Zondo) at the end of April to save their struggling mine company. And while the wedding never took place thanks to the groom trying to kill himself, Zweli is furious on Wednesday 9 May because this ordeal could have been avoided. “A part of Zweli blames himself,” explains Hlomla. Zweli believes that if he had known about Andile’s sexuality, he would have stopped the wedding from happening and “his son wouldn’t have lived a lie for this long. Zweli is angry at Lindiwe for expecting Andile to go through with it. If Andile’s suicide had been successful, Zweli would’ve left Lindiwe on the spot,” adds the actor.
It’s not the first time that Lindiwe’s real character is exposed… Not really. While the signs are there, Zweli won’t allow himself to accept that his wife, the woman he loves, is a monster. Even though she was accused of murdering miner Thato (Don Mlangeni)? It kind of makes him sleep better knowing that she is human and makes mistakes like everyone. He stood by her and supported her against the claims. What was Zweli and Andile’s father-son relationship like before Zweli knew about his sexuality? For some time Zweli suspected that Andile is gay. They are really close, which is why he was disappointed when he learnt that Andile has been struggling with accepting his sexuality and didn’t speak to him. How does Zweli handle being around the homophobic Lindiwe after Andile comes out of the closet? Lindiwe underplays her homophobia whenever she is with her husband, so it’s not vulgar and in his face. With time, Lindiwe will make peace with Andile being gay because she doesn’t want to lose her son or her husband. So what makes Zweli different from other characters that you’ve played in the past? Zweli is a hands-on family man. He is proud to be there for his kids whenever they need him. He loves spending time with them.
