Brother-and-sister Anja and Zandre are both in relationships… with older love interests.
Sibling rivalry in the Lategan home has gone to new extremes – Anja and Zandre (Lee Visagie and Dèanré Reiners) are competing on the romance front. “It’s interesting that they’ve got our characters dipping into the older dating pool,” giggles Lee. “This is a new space for them – especially Anja, who hasn’t always been lucky in love. Even the beginning with Joshua (Bradley Nowikow) was awkward for her.”
A KEPT WOMAN
When Anja and Joshua started dating in early July, it was all about money, explains Lee. “He’s a rich businessman and spoils her. He buys her gifts and showers her with money – she never had that before. There wasn’t real love. Anja was attracted to his money.” Cash almost tore them apart too on Monday 16 July when Anja woke up in Joshua’s bed and there’s a “gift”: money. “She almost feels like he is paying her for sex,” says Lee. “But it’s not like that. It’s his way of giving her the attention she craves – and it’s money to buy herself nice stuff, not for sex. Josh would’ve given her the money anyway. Maybe he really is a nice guy.” It won’t take for
Anja to find out – after Anja spoils her family with gifts on Wednesday 25 July, Anja answers Josh’s phone while he is in another room on Thursday 26 July. “Anja felt like a piece on the side at first,” warns Lee. “She sees her chance at another life disappear…”
CURIOSITY WENT MEOW
Anja’s personal trainer brother Zandre is having a better time with his lovelife at least. “Seline (Rosa Anthony) isn’t his type at all,” says Dèanré with a laugh. “She’s flirty with him and he is curious about it, sleeping with an older woman.” Seline’s flirting becomes too much to resist on Monday 30 July and he doesn’t know what to do, explains the actor. “He is innocent and the thrill of an older woman draws him in. He isn’t even bothered by her wedding ring anymore – he ignores it. It’s not like his decision-making is being guided by his brain…”
