Trapped like a rat
Danni exposes Eben, forcing Bianca to turn her back on him.
Danni ( Vashti Prins) was right about Eben (Phillip Henn): he’s also caused trouble for other women with his unwelcoming advances. And she isn’t the only one who lost her job after turning down his creepy propositions. After digging through his past, Danni gets a lead to one of Eben’s victims and contacts her to find out more. “She tells Danni that he hit on her while they were working on a project,” explains Vashti. “Danni is warned to tread carefully because Eben knows how to make himself appear innocent.” Luckily, Danni’s got help from her friend Zoe (Lauren Joseph) and they set their trap for Eben the jackal.
WHAT A FLOP
Danni’s plan to meet Eben on Thursday 19 July doesn’t get the results she was hoping for. “Eben doesn’t trust the sudden peace offering and doesn’t fall for her tricks,” reveals Vashti. The next day (Friday 20 July) Eben finds out that Danni will be home alone and he offers to meet her there. “Danni and Zoe jump to action, realising that their opportunity is here!” says Vashti excitedly. While their plan falls apart thanks to Eben’s ability to smell a rat, what the no-good older guy doesn’t realise is that his well- crafted web of lies is coming undone. His daughter Bianca (Simone Biscombe) confronts him on Monday 23 July after she gets a worrying SMS. “She wants to believe her dad and that Danni was guilty of leading him on,” says Simone. And as expected, Eben plays innocent, but Bianca has an uneasy feeling. “She doesn’t want to believe the worst in people. It’s not how she is. But something sticks out here…”.
THE BLAME GAME
Bianca confronts her father again on Tuesday 24 July and he makes it clear, explains Phillip: “Eben was vulnerable when things didn’t work out with Bianca’s mom Mymoena (Jill Levenberg). Danni led him on, but he may have read the signals incorrectly.” Bianca and Danni aren’t Eben’s only problems on Tuesday 24 July – Ian (Abduraghmaan Adams) tells Eben that their business deal isn’t going to happen. “Ian sees Eben for what he really is and that he made a mistake by blaming Danni – she was telling the truth all along,” says Abdu. Eben goes to see his daughter heart in hand on Wednesday 25 July begging for forgiveness, but he is given the cold shoulder. “Bianca is upset that her father lied and did this,” says Simone. But not as upset as the rest of Ruiterbosch will be when Eben gets his revenge!
