Three’s company
David wants his babymama Gail back but he’s got stiff competition: his right-hand man Toolkit is in love with her too.

Businessman and all-round shady guy David Genaro (Jamie Bartlett) is fuming on Wednesday 29 August when a bird whispers in his ear that his protégé Toolkit (Paul Maila) is hooking up with Gail (Pam Andrews) and they are planning to steal his meat distribution business. “David assigned Toolkit to watch over Gail in August and protect her from his enemies, not to fall in love with her,” says Jamie with a raised eyebrow. But a tough guy like David won’t sit by and let others get the better of him – he’s going to make them pay and there is nothing that a jealous David won’t do, coos Jamie. “He has wanted to rekindle his romance with Gail, not only for their son Quinton (Cidjey Thivillion) but also because he really loves her. But while David is disappointed that she’s moved on with the hired help, what gets him raging is that they think they can steal from him and get away.”
FAKING IT
“There’s tension in office [on Monday 3 September] but Toolkit is oblivious to the fact that David know what he has been up to,” says Jamie. David orders Toolkit to steal cattle from his rival Suffocate (Mduduzi Mabaso) on Wednesday 5 September and “he isn’t taking no for an answer,” blurts Jamie, whose character shuts Toolkit down before he can protest. Toolkit is wary of crossing Suffo after having an affair with his wife Niki (Nolo Phiri) in 2017, so stealing from Suffo puts a target on his back. “It’s part of David’s plan to get Toolkit out of the way without raising suspicion, while also making him pay for his betrayal. David knows that having Toolkit killed in the line of duty is better than having blood on his own hands,” reveals Jamie.
TROUBLE BREWING
Gail is wise to David’s wicked ways and smelling a rat on Monday 10 September, she tries to throw him off by going on a date with her friend Gabe (Brandon Engelbrecht). “Thinking that he and Gail are over, Toolkit beats up this gent,” says Jamie with a chuckle. And while Toolkit’s plan blows up in his face and Gail sends him packing, David is shot down too that same day. But he isn’t worried – Gail will come round to him like she always does. As for Toolkit, he’d better hurry up and steal Suffo’s cattle for his boss and not get caught…
