Wyatt is putting the moves on a lucky new lady – his former stepmother Katie!

Katie (Heather Tom) takes a page from her man- eater sister Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) playbook by sleeping with men from the same family. But there is a gross factor in her new conquest, because Wyatt (Darin Brooks) was her stepson when she was married to Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Doesn’t that bother Katie? “Not at all,” says Heather honestly. “She met Wyatt when he was already a man – she didn’t raise him.” And they’re not waiting around either after sharing an innocent kiss in the office on Wednesday 29 August – they are between the sheets just two days later on Friday 31 August!
OFFICE PARTY
“They connect on so many levels and they work closely,” says Heather, cooing that “he’s easy on the eyes too”. Like just about every other character, Katie and Wyatt work in fashion and those late nights sketching designs is where their hearts cross paths. “Katie wants to have fun and Wyatt brings that out in her. He makes her laugh and that’s what she needs right now.” Darin adds that it’s a little different for his character: “It starts off as lust, then it turns into friends with benefits because that feels safer for them. Being married to his father Bill, Katie was uptight and controlling like him. But it’s different now. She’s a lot more relaxed and fun.”
DANGER DANGER
While they’re enjoying each other’s bodies now, there’s one person who is going to go ballistic when he finds out: Bill. “Oh he is definitely not going to be pleased when he finds out [in February 2019 for SA audiences],” says Heather. That doesn’t scare Darin or his character though, with the actor saying slyly that “they will just need to be careful with their little rendezvous…”
FAMILY AFFAIRS
Bold is no stranger to keeping relationships in the same family and it’s been a blast for Darin. “We have to kind of forget those little details sometimes [like being family]. We have to try make a really amazing relationship so your audience can root for us without living in the ‘but they’re kind- of related’ shadow.”
