She’s only been in town since March this year but fans know not to cross fierce businesswoman Moliehi Zikalala ( Vatiswa Ndara). “She will do anything to protect her family,” says Vatiswa. “I do mean anything.” Those words don’t get through to Terror ( Tshepo Seagiso), who’s been terrorising the community since he arrived on Wednesday 15 August searching for the people who murdered his gangster father Terror Sr years earlier. Terror shot Moliehi’s stepson Skhu’s ( Thokozani Zikalala) girlfriend Rendani (Innocentia Makapila) on Friday 31 August and that’s a declaration of war for Moliehi. “She knows how dangerous he is. That sets off the alarm bells for her,” adds the actress.

Alarms bells are ringing for the police though when Terror’s corpse is discovered on Tuesday 18 September. Did Moliehi send Jr on the same journey that his dad took? “We don’t know who killed him when his body is found,” says Vatiswa with a grin. “He had many enemies…”

SUSPECT LIST

Terror turned Thathe on its head in a very short time – even the royal family the Mukwevhos wanted to spill his blood after he crossed the line with them. Moliehi’s family associate and businessman Eric (Dumisani Dlamini) wants Terror out the way because the young thug knows about Eric and Moliehi’s late husband’s illegal businesses in the past. But the prime suspect is Moli herself. Terror believes that Moli and her family killed his dad and he isn’t letting up his search for evidence. “She confronts him [on Monday 17 Septem- ber] and threatens him: leave my family alone or else…” warns Vatiswa. Terror isn’t backing down, thinking that the threats carry no weight – until he is killed. “I don’t think that we know or realise exactly what lengths Moliehi will go to. It’s one thing to threaten someone. It’s another to commit murder. Moliehi is dangerous when backed into a corner and that’s exactly what Terror did to her,” teases Vatiswa.

FREEDOM!

Terror out the way isn’t just a relief in terms of watching her back, it allows Moliehi to continue her business without fear that any unsavoury info will come out. “She is a suspect and that brings a cloud over her family. It’s a steep price to pay,” says Vatiswa slyly, “but she is only a suspect. There are others who wanted Terror gone. There are others who could’ve killed him.”

IN HER DEFENCE

Leaping to Moli’s defence is an upstanding member of the community – her businessman husband James (Dingaan Mokebe). “Of course he is shocked to hear that his wife has been implicated in Terror’s murder, but he knows his wife isn’t capable of such an act,” says Dingaan. Yes, he knows that she has issues and that she has a mysterious past, but murder? “No way,” adds the actor. “She’s the kind of person who’d order a beating, not murder. That’s very different, right?”

NO DIVORCE

However, James is concerned that all the attention on the family could have a negative impact on his business reputation and he considers moving out “for a little while and staying in a hotel until this blows over,” explains Vatiswa. Moli refuses his suggestion on Monday 24 September, pleading her innocence. She also shuts down any divorce talk before the thought creeps into James’s head. “Moliehi is a ‘dust yourself up and get up’ kind of woman. Nothing will keep her down… not even this murder,” Vatiswa warns.
