Burn Notice
Season 1 Weekdays e.tv (*194) 09:30. Action.
A burn notice is bad news for a secret agent. It’s a message that their agency sends through the intelligence community to warn that the spy has become unreliable and it spells disaster for Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) in seven-season action comedy Burn Notice (2007-2013) as the agent’s assets are frozen and his history and identity are erased. Burnt Michael is now stuck in his hometown Miami, forced to take work as a shady and unlicensed private investigator while he secretly works on his biggest case – trying to find out who betrayed him.
THE TEAM
Michael still has his impressive spy skills to fall back on, including endless inventiveness and weapons skills, and a chameleon-like ability to put on accents and identities. But it’s a tough world out there and he could use a friend or two. Despite being persona non-grata in the spy world, Michael is able to put together a new crew that includes: His sassy, white-haired mommy 1 Madeline Westen (Sharon Gless, Cagney in Cagney & Lacey, 1982-1988), who basically runs his investigation business while he does the dirty work. His go-to-guy friend Sam Axe 2 (Bruce Campbell), a semi-retired FBI informant and former Navy SEAL who always seems to “know a guy who knows a guy” who can give Michael what he needs. Michael should watch Sam around his mom though – he loves a retired cougar to pay his way. His gun-toting glam ex- girlfriend 3 Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar), an ex-IRA operative who takes care of weapons and explosions – emotional and physical. They broke up but that occasionally slips their minds.
