Walter hops from one love-interest to another when Malefu says no but her friend says yes.
Despite being turned down at every chat-up line and love token, Walter (Jet Novuka) can’t help but fall more in love with Malefu (Moshidi Motshegwa) on Wednesday 21 November. “He can’t shake off his feelings that she is the one,” explains Jet. That’s not even the half of it – Walter is currently dating Malefu’s best friend Flora (Tinah Mnumzana) but it’s out of convenience. “Being with Flora doesn’t change anything. Walter is in love with Malefu! He isn’t that much invested in this romance with Flora,” explains Jet. The hardest part about not being with Malefu is that Walter can tell that she is into him. “She is scared to admit her feelings as she is still grieving for her husband Thato (Don Mlangeni) [who was murdered in February this year]. It’s awkward when it’s him, Malefu and Flora because he gets this feeling that Malefu is on the fence about pursuing a relationship with him but he’s with her friend,” adds Jet.
Does Walter think that he’s got a chance with Malefu? He was disappointed, like any man, at her rejection. He didn’t back off immediately as he thought that with persistence, he’d change her decision but it didn’t work. Walter still believes that they have a chance. What was Malefu’s reaction to Walter moving onto Flora? Malefu pushed him away because she wanted to make sense of her feelings. She is still somewhat in shock. The last thing she expected was for him to turn to Flora so quickly. Does that come between Flora and Malefu? It does. Malefu feels a pang of jealousy and she regrets her decision when she learns that Flora and Walter aren’t just a fling but something more serious. What is it about Malefu that Walter finds difficult to resist? Malefu is intelligent, courageous and beautiful. At first, he was hesitant about asking Malefu out on a date because he was good friends with Thato. Malefu will always be the one that got away in Walter’s heart. And she’s not over Thato either? Malefu is fixated on her feelings for Thato. He was the only man that she’s ever been with. She compares potential suitors to him, especially Walter. Thato was good father to their kids and he was highly respected in the community.
