Necktie Killer Ben Weston has been spiralling into insanity out of sheer jealousy.
The identity of Salem’s Necktie Killer, which was revealed on Monday 19 November, comes as a surprise to everyone – perhaps even including the killer himself! On Wednesday 21 November, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) wakes up from dreaming about how Paige (True O’Brien) and
Serena (Melissa Archer) and struggled while they were being strangled, convincing himself, “I did not mean to. I couldn’t have. No. It was Chad (Billy Flynn).” And he later speaks to himself about Chad “making” him kill his victims. “These are blackouts,” explains Robert. “It doesn’t matter if one person dies or 50 people. In his mind, all these people are dying because of Chad. Everything Ben does is to set up Chad.” And yes, these are not the thoughts of any sane man.
BEN IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE…
He grew up on the 1 run from his abusive father Clyde (James Read). “He’s a little psycho! Ben has never had a family because he was always on the run. Ben does not know how to handle the whole situation with Abigail (Kate Mansi) and Chad and if that is taken away from him, he is going to wipe people out!” says Robert calmly. Ben has a history of violence. He 2 was arrested on Friday 23 March for beating up Chad after Chad taunted him about having sex with Abby. He was so insecure about Abby’s 3 fidelity that he planted a tracking app on her phone to keep tabs on her whereabouts on Tuesday 7 August. When he tracked her to the 4 DiMera Mansion on Wednesday 8 August, Ben found Abby and Chad fighting about their affair in the rose garden. He pretended that nothing was wrong, but ever since then he has swung between muttering about Abby possessively and pampering her like a princess, while secretly seething with resentment over her betrayal. And that temper keeps spilling over… Clyde asks Ben on Monday 19 Nov5 ember what he would do if Chad follows them, he replies with a simple “Then I will kill him”. Still not convinced that Ben is bad news? Just wait…
THE THIRD VICTIM
While Abby is busy trying on wedding dresses on Monday 26 November, Ben is sitting at home thinking about the women he’s already murdered. Say it with us: “Abby, you’re in danger, girl!” But she isn’t the only one who should take care, as Ben’s next victim discovers on Tuesday 4 December.
