Baby bombshell
Paulina dumps her criminal boyfriend Cobra for one lie too many – and too big.
Shebeen queen Paulina (Tango Ncetezo) is seething on Monday 24 December when she finds out that she has been lied to by her boyfriend Cobra (Presley Chweneyagae). “She is tired of being played for a fool,” says Tango. “In the past, she would let little things slide, forgive the career criminal for being arrested or disappearing for the weekend. But a child? No way! That is too much. She has had enough of his deceit.” Cobra has kept his daughter Baby (Tarhu and Tarhuni Ngwane) hidden from her but he can’t cover up any longer after his babymama Angel (Nokuthula Ledwaba) gets in the way. “Cobra forced Paulina into a corner,” says Tango. “She loves him but this woman arrives with a child. Angel comes in and out of his home as she pleases. She disrespects Paulina whenever she gets the chance.”
Paulina keeps forgiving Cobra – is this time going to be any different? No, not at all. They have been together since they were teenagers and she sees a side to him that no one else does. Cobra is intelligent and funny. Paulina knows that he is more than his criminal ways and a part of her hopes that he will change into a good guy. One day. Why doesn’t she give him the chance to explain hiding Baby? She’s disappointed in him. Cobra tries every trick in the book to make Paulina believe that the child isn’t his – he even claims that he doesn’t know the toddler or her mom. Paulina has had enough of his lies! Isn’t it strange that Angel and Baby arrive just when Paulina and Cobra are planning to get married and have a family? It goes to show that nothing can be hidden forever. Angel told Cobra that she had his child [offscreen] but he refused to be part of Baby’s life. His shady ways always catch up to him unexpectedly. What were Cobra and Paulina’s plans when they first started dating? It wasn’t anything serious. They wanted to have fun and keep each other company, but as time went by, she fell in love with him and he realised that no woman could love him more than Paulina. So there’s been no other man for her other than Cobra? She’s had a fling here and there, but her heart always led her back to Cobra, her true love. Where are they going to end up after this? It’s difficult to tell right now, because this is a huge stumbling block in their relationship. But she does hope that they can fix things. Let me tell you though, Angel and Baby aren’t going to make that dream plain sailing!
