Messing with the sisters
Hendrik puts his marriage to Lalage to the ultimate test when he kisses his sister-in-law Wendy.
It’s been a while since a woman has looked at Hendrik (Gérard Rudolf) the way that his sister-in-law Wendy (Michelle Beling) does on Monday 24 December. “She’s attentive and makes him feel wanted, unlike his emotionally distant wife Lalage (Elma Postma),” says Gérard. Wendy is sure of her feelings for Hendrik and wants to tell him on Wednesday 26 December. “Hendrik is oblivious to her seduction,” says Gérard. “They have become close over the last few months, so it doesn’t cross his mind when she bats her eyelashes or leans forward during their chats,” adds the actor. Wendy’s emotions and feelings for her off-limits brother-in-law are so strong that by Thursday 27 December, she’s willing to put her relationship with Lalage on the line to snatch Hendrik’s heart.
SHORT END OF THE STICK
“Wendy is tired of waiting. She wants Hendrik to know, no matter the consequences,” says Gérard. She builds up enough courage and admits her feelings to him on Thursday 27 December but she doesn’t get the reaction she’s hoping for. “Hendrik pulls back from her. He politely rejects her, which puts her off,” says Gérard. Because they live under the same roof, their interactions change, the mood completely switches. “Part of Hendrik feels guilty and he apologises for sending her mixed signals and leading her on,” explains Gérard, even though Hendrik didn’t realise that he was doing it. “He can see where the wires may have crossed. They spent a lot of time together while Lalage was away on work. He blames himself and wants to make up for it,” adds the actor. But that will only bring him and Wendy closer…
FROM CONFIDANT TO LOVER
Hendrik waits for his family to leave on Monday 31 December so that he and Wendy can chat. “He wants to go back to being friends again,” says Gérard. But one thing leads to another and they end up kissing. “Everything happens fast. His intention wasn’t to kiss her but being with Wendy feels right,” adds the actor. “When he’s with her, he is reminded of what he had with Lalage at the start of their marriage. They were open and could talk about anything, like he is now with Wendy,” says Gérard. But it’s not going to stop with the kiss – Hendrik needs to feel alive again and Wendy is more than willing to help him… in the bedroom.
