1 Tau’s marriage to Karabo ended in tears in early 2016 when she packed her bags in the middle of the night and moved to the UK “without my approval,” lamented Tau at the time [offscreen, Connie joined her own production The Queen on Mzansi Magic as lead character Harriet and executive producer]. When she returned in Jan 2017, Tau mistook it for her wanting to make-up but Karabo was only in town to get sole custody of their son Amo (Noluthando Nxumalo). “He was blindsided,” says Rapulana. “He never thought that there was anything wrong with his marriage and that she would just walk out like that.”
2 When the divorce dust settled, Tau got involved with ambitious entrepreneur and building consultant Zitha (Zoe Mthiyane) last year. They had regular relationship ups and downs but made it to the altar in July, although that ended in tears when Tau embarrassed her in front of their guests by exposing her betrayal: she was still doing business with his sworn business enemy Jack Mabaso ( Vusi Kunene). “Every woman he has dated is the same – beautiful with brains. They have all been driven in business, power-hungry and focussed,” says Rapulana. “Ayanda is the same – she is perfectly suited as a partner for Tau… like all of his exes.”
