Quit Your Day Job

-

Season 1 SABC3 (*193) 20:30 Reality

A select few entrepreneurs go from noluck to overnight success but that’s the reality for contestants on Quit Your Day Job (2016- current) – four investors listen to pitches, evaluate the business ideas and choose to put their money where their mouths are. “They get to quit their day jobs and work on developing their business dreams,” says Ido. The four mentors come from very different areas of business and have everything covered from marketing to product design. So who are they?

Sarah Prevette (worth R200 million) 1 founded sprouter.com and Future Design School in Canada that facilitate the sharing of knowledge between entrepreneurs and established business owners who’ve “been there, done that”. 2 Lauren Maillian (worth R300 million) is a master marketer who turned her grape business Sugarleaf Vineyards into an award-winning winery by the age of 19. She also owns and runs consulting firm Luxury Market Branding. Randi Zuckerberg (worth R2.8 billion) 3 is a tech mogul like her Facebook boss brother Mark. She has a Harvard degree in marketing and is the CEO of Zuckerberg Media, as well as the creator of kiddies show Dot. about a girl who uses technology to solve problems. Ido Leffler (worth R1.4 billion) is a 4 consumer products tycoon. The Israeli-born Australian has a social mission with each business – Yoobi, for example, is a stationary company that donates school supplies to underprivileged kids. He’s been in business since his teens when his family lost their hom in a recession – he started bread delivery company The Roving Bakery.
