BABY FAKER!
Lehasa accuses lying Lelo of being pregnant by another man
If corrupt businessman Lehasa (Cedric Fourie) thought that he was going to dump his ex- convict live-in girlfriend Lelo (Amanda du-Pont) like a bad habit to focus on growing his restaurant empire, he’s got another thing coming. “She claims that she is pregnant with his baby,” says Cedric, but his character isn’t convinced. Lelo’s pregnancy news couldn’t have come at a worst stage in their relationship. For starters, he’s been on the fence about dumping her after their back-and-forth arguments regarding Lehasa’s latenight meetings with his beautiful business partner
Candice (Liza van Deventer) and “he always uses protection. Lehasa is no fool and for that reason, he doesn’t even to consider the possibility of the baby being his,” explains the actor. Instead, Lehasa jumps to the conclusion that Lelo is making up stories to save their rocky romance. “Lehasa is always away on business and he believes that the pregnancy is just a stunt to keep him from doing business with Candice,” explains Cedric. Lehasa is out to prove that Lelo doesn’t have a bun in the oven and his digging for information will only draw further them apart, insists Cedric.
TROUBLE IN PARADISE
Lelo will be in trouble if Lehasa throws her out and she knows it. Besides the perks of the beautiful view and access to a gym and pool, she’ll be in violation of her parole if she doesn’t have a suitable place to live in Gauteng. “The authorities have routine checks to ensure that she’s in a safe environment and that she is staying out of trouble,” says Cedric. And no one else will take her in if Lehasa throws her out on the street because she has destroyed most of her friendships when she went to prison in 2015 for stealing her ex-boyfriend Kwaito’s (Clement Maosa) novel. “Lelo doesn’t want to go back to prison,” says Cedric. She will do anything in her will to live with Lehasa because, in the back of her mind, he’ll move on if she leaves the province to live with her aunt Nomalanga (Gcebile Dlamini) in Mpumalanga.
BABY ON BOARD
It’s not that Lehasa doesn’t want kids, he just doesn’t want them with Lelo. “He’d always wanted children with his late wife Zandile (Matshepho Maleme) who passed away from cancer last year. He keeps her eggs safely stored at a clinic, hoping that one day he will find a surrogate mother to carry his and Zandile’s kids,” explains the actor.
GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS
Besides not having to play house and kids with Lelo, Lehasa is still convinced that he isn’t the father. And there is only one other person who could have slept with her other than him. “Lehasa confronts Lelo about cheating on him with
Emkay (Mlungisi Mathe,” says Cedric. “He is the only male that Lelo spends time with except Lehasa. Although Lelo has made it clear that she doesn’t have feelings for her friend Emkay, Lehasa is sold that she cheated on him with Emkay,” explains Cedric. Lehasa’s accusations further drive a wedge in his relationship “but while she’s devastated that Lehasa is questioning her pregnancy, Lelo will make sure that he doesn’t break up with her by sticking to her story.”
