One too many cookies

Koloi risks expulsion when his school discovers that he is selling cookies with detrimental effects to his classmates.

-

Koloi’s (Joseph Tshepo Senatle) days in Turfloop High School are numbered when a video of his classmates acting out of character goes viral. He went around the class selling cookies with a secret ingredient and “the students have different reactions to eating them,” reveals Joseph. While some of his fellow students are sleepy and dizzy, others are uncontrollably laughing, raising suspicion, adds the actor. “Teachers want answers. They have never seen this kind of behaviour,” adds Joseph. The staff take the matter to headmistress Principal

Thobakgale (Elizabeth Serunye) who immediately goes digging for information. “She questions each learner and there’s a common denominator: they all had cookies but they also refuse to reveal where they got them from,” explains Joseph. The suspense throws Koloi over the edge as Principal is interrogating the students in his class and “it’s only a matter of time until she gets the answers she’s searching for. Principal is persistent and will push the students until they expose Koloi as the culprit,” reveals Joseph. The heat gets so much that Koloi makes a desperate move.

A MAN WITH A PLAN

Koloi is walking on eggshells while he waits for the dust to settle. “He wasn’t thinking of the consequences when he baked the cookies as he just wanted to make a quick buck,” says Joseph. Koloi thinks that everyone is staring at him at school and his paranoia drives him to go into hiding. “He is terrified. He hopes that all will be forgotten [while he hides away] but it only aggravates his problem,” adds Joseph. The other students expose him out of fear as they believe that he has been kidnapped and he is in a lot of trouble.

EXPOSED!

With everybody frantically looking for him, Koloi finally returns home but he’s forced to face the repercussions of his entrepreneurship. “He thought that he would simply be sent to detention,” says Joseph, but something worse is waiting: a disciplinary hearing with the possibility of suspension. “Koloi’s cookies caused a health scare among the students, so the school won’t be so forgiving,” warns the actor. No one is laughing now…
