A deal with the devil

Nina has nowhere to hide when Lincoln gives her a deadly ultimatum: kill Gabriel or I’ll murder your son Obakeng.

-

Mob queen-turned- convict Nina (Khabonina Qubeka) thought her problems would disappear overnight when she handed herself over to the police for her past crimes to protect herself from her business rival Lincoln (Lindani Nkosi). But there is no escape from Lincoln as he continues to torment her in prison. “He even visits her in her cell to cut a deal with her,” says Khabonina. He wants Nina to help him kill his enemy Gabriel (Aubrey Poo) – or else he will put a bullet in her son Obakeng (Anga Makhubalo). “She’s backed into a corner, so she has to agree,” adds Khabonina. And Lincoln has his plan all figured out: he’s going to help Nina escape prison by bribing the magistrate during her bail hearing. “Lincoln bullies Nina into it to prove that he has the upper hand,” explains the actress. But while having more blood on her hands is frustrating for Nina, she has no other choice if she wants to protect her son.

SOFT SPOT

“She is losing her mind!” says Khabonina. Lincoln wants to attack her where it hurts most and what better way than to threaten to kill Obakeng? Khabonina explains that using Obakeng as a pawn in his game of tricks has always been part of Lincoln’s evil ploy as he blames Nina for his late daughter

Nikiwe’s (Linda Sokhulu) suicide in 2017. “He’s angry that Nina drugged Nikiwe with pills that pushed her to the verge of insanity. Lincoln is out to destroy Nina,” explains Khabonina.

POWER MOVE

Nina is at odds when she is released from prison and Lincoln hands her the gun that she’s going to use to kill Gabriel. “She regrets agreeing to the deal but it’s too late to back out now,” says Khabonina. Lincoln expects Nina to act fast and she sends an invitation to Gabriel and Lincoln to meet her at a secret spot. Lincoln doesn’t realise that he’s just given Nina the upper hand. “She could easily change her mind and shoot them both,” warns Khabonina.
