Tattletale Tshidi scares off Jack

Jack is determined to see his son and he’s not afraid to spill blood to make that happen.

When it comes to legacies and pride, no one comes close to all-powerful Jack Mabaso (Vusi Kunene). He has proven over the years that he’ll kill to get what he wants and still sleep like a baby. However, he’s had a tough time sleeping peacefully in recent weeks – and it’s all thanks to his babymama Tshidi (Letoya Makhene).

GONE BABY

Not only has Tshidi’s sudden return, seemingly from the dead, rattled Jack’s cage, there’s one glaring issue he simply cannot ignore – his son is nowhere to be seen. “He’s been looking for Tshidi for months,” Vusi says. “But he doesn’t care about her. He just wants to know where his baby son is.” Naturally, Tshidi is refusing to give her son to a man as dangerous as Jack. She did after all fake her own death to ensure her son would never know his dad. “Tshidi doesn’t tell Jack a thing, just that the child is safe.”

TORTURE TACTICS

In typical Jack fashion, he wastes no time conjuring up a sickening plot to get Tshidi to tell him everything. He starts fairly timidly, sending his lead henchman Luzuko (Nyaniso Dzedze) to follow Tshidi like a shadow and track her calls and messages. When Luzuko fails to get his hands on any information that could point Jack in his son’s direction, he resorts to more violent measures. “His plan is to get Luzuko to kidnap Tshidi and torture her into giving information about the baby’s whereabouts,” Vusi shares.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

But Jack’s plans hit a snag when Tshidi, realising that she’s in danger, sits down for a saucy tell-all interview with Flying News hours before the kidnapping. “When Jack sees the interview online, where Tshidi reveals her fake death and running from an abusive Jack, he pulls the plug on his plan,” explains Vusi. “If Tshidi went missing now, he would be the first suspect.” So it’s back to square one for Jack as all eyes are on the woman he so desperately wants to kill.

Whether Jack will meet his son is still up in the air. Vusi isn’t letting anything slip, but he does tell us that if Jack’s history of doing the unthinkable is anything to go by, he won’t let this bump in the road deter him. “He’s obsessed with power and leaving a legacy. His son is his legacy, his heir.”
