It’s the beginning of the end for Supernatural (2005-now) as the final season kicks off with brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) as they team up again with their angel pal Castiel (Misha Collins). The season kicks off right where season 14 ended when God (Rob Benedict, Jonathan Laurents in Masters Of Sex, 2013-2019) opened the gates of Hell and released all the bad demons on Earth. “Episode 1 is like a mini apocalypse where the demon hunting brothers and Castiel fight off evil spirits and contend with the living dead,” says exec producer Andrew Dabb.
From the first few minutes alone, the trio of heroes have a face-off with God, who is in an apocalyptic mood, but not with a flood like in the bible. “The repercussions of having so many dangers back in the world will reverberate throughout our entire season,” says Andrew. Executive producer Bob Singer adds, “When God is your uber-villain, it’s not just a one-episode deal. It’s not simple and at a certain point, God will be at full strength, which gives our boys even more problems.”
