Name: Ipeleng Rakgantsho Position: a writer who finds herself reminiscing about her iced-coffee solo dates at that restaurant where the muffins are a size of a full-grown man’s head.

I am watching: Cherish The Day season 1 airs Tuesdays on 1Magic (*103) at 20:00. My take on this show: there are two women I’d clone: my incredible “mom” Beyoncé (for obvious reasons) and Ava DuVernay, who created this romantic drama series. It’s an anthology following a different couple in each season. For season 1, it’s Gently (Xosha Roquemore) and Evan (Alano Miller), a couple from different worlds who’re brought together by their undeniable chemistry. They’re both hot-headed which tells me that they’re going to have issues, and I can’t wait to watch it unfold.

My favourite moment so far: I enjoy the simple, straight-forward storytelling overall. It’s not to say that the romantic drama lacks suspense or it’s predictable. Not at all. It’s gripping, heart-warming and at times had me screaming at the screen.

Why I am watching it now: I’ve been waiting for it to hit local screens since it aired in the US in February this year. It was worth it.

Familiar faces: Xosha was Tamara on comedy The Mindy Project (2012-2017), and we saw Alano as Cato on drama Underground (2016-2017). There’s Cicely

Tyson (Ophelia on How To Get Away With Murder, 2014-2020) as Luma.
