As Fikret in Deur Dik En Dun (originally called Istanbullu Gelin, 2017-2019), Salih Bademci is going through a tough time. The actor, who also plays Sinan in telenovela As Die Skoen Pas (originally Kiralik Ask, 2015-2017, see more on p33) says that “this guy is the black sheep in his family. Everything he does turns to coal. His marriage is falling apart. He is always second favourite after his brother Faruk (Özcan Deniz, Murat in Karagül, 2013-2014). His business is failing. He’s having bad luck”, says the 37-year-old actor, whose real-life luck is better.
Salih wed his co-star Imer Özgün (Zeynep in horror film Kendinol, 2015) in 2015 – she is Esra in Deur Dik En Dun. In April 2020, they had their daughter iKlim. The couple have fun at work as they have a rule, says Salih: “We’re best friends, so we gossip and talk and we can’t wait to see each other during the day. But when we go home, we’re done with work – we don’t talk about it at all when we finish filming.” He planned on working in advertising after school but changed his mind when he didn’t get into college. “I took acting classes at a local theatre and loved it,” says the actor.
He got his first role by chance – he went to an audition to support a friend as was cast as Cenk in crime film Barda (2006) after meeting the director. Salih is a life-long fan of Turkish soccer team Fenerbahçe SK. Before COVID-19, he went to live matches and has a box seat at the stadium.
