Whole lotta love

Wallet gets walloped by the love bug when he finds himself falling for two women.

-

Considering that he is Turfloop’s most-loved actor and poet, it’s rather strange that fan favourite Wallet (Molefi Monaisa) hasn’t had more luck when it comes to love. In fact, he hasn’t had much romance in his life at all, says Molefi. “But that is about to change! He falls for two feisty women and it will be interesting.”

Having recently taken up a position at the Kunutu spaza shop, Melita (Hellen Motsuki) has been spending more time with shop regular Wallet. For now, it’s mostly business. But Molefi says it could become something. “Wallet and Melita start seeing more of each other, and I think that’s how Wallet starts to take a liking to her.” At first, Wallet isn’t sure about his feelings. Is it simply a blossoming friendship or something more? But before Wallet can explore his growing attraction toward Melita, life throws him an attractive curveball.

ALL ABOUT EVE

And precisely when the Wallet-Melita situation is about to warm up, there’s an all-too-convenient new arrival in the community. Molefi says that his character is immediately transfixed by Eve (Vele Manenje, host in 2018 and 2019 of reality show Our Perfect Wedding, 2013-now), describing her as “an angel” sent from above. “It takes just about a split second for him to take an unmistakable liking to her. When they meet, all they see are hearts – and the hearts are mutual,” explains Molefi. She’s the full package on a physical and mental level. “He is blown away. In today’s world, it’s rare to find someone who can finish Wallet’s sentences on poetry or literature. My goodness! Never did he think there existed a female version of himself,” exclaims Molefi.

LOVE ACTUALLY

Before Wallet can say “sonnet”, he and Eve find themselves on their first date. “It’s a simple but delicious dinner at her place,” reveals Molefi. The actor says the first date is a massive success, with Wallet barely able to pull himself away from Eve as the evening comes to a close. “Wallet doesn’t ever want to leave. It all comes so easy to the both of them,” says Molefi. “I think some of the best relationships are where two people just click so easily that there are no awkward moments between them. Where it almost feels like they were matched by the universe itself.” And that’s exactly what our lovebirds are experiencing – universal love.

As for his feelings for Melita, Molefi says that Wallet will put those aside for the time being. “It’s too premature to tell, but Wallet will be praying that this thing with Eve is the real deal.” Famous last words in soapieland, although we hope they’re true this time.
