Following their disastrous and failed attempts at romance in TLC Network’s hit reality series 90 Day Fiancé, seven singles are back to try their luck in the dating scene on season 2 of spin-off reality show 90 Day: The Single Life.
Just like in the rest of the 90 Day universe, where cast members meet their foreign lovers online, some of the cast in Single Life will travel across the world to explore the budding relationships. Others, like returning cast member Ed Brown, who split with Liz Woods in season 1, will go on blind dates again in search of their soulmates. “The cast are people who viewers have come to know and love,” explains executive producer Alon Orstien, adding that “they’re picking up the pieces and giving love another shot. We’ll watch as they dust off the dating apps, move on from their exes, and embark on a journey to find love.”
To shake things up in season 2, the cast features a diverse mixture of fanfavourites and villains from the 90 Day franchise, including endearing South African native Syngin Colchester, who viewers first met in season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé in 2014. He moved to the US to tie the knot with Tania Maduro in her hometown Connecticut, but their marriage crumbled and they divorced in 2021. In Single Life, Syngin and Tania adjust to their separation while still living together. “The cast continues to be honest and transparent about all aspects of their romantic lives. It’s also critical that we have a variety of subjects in storylines, age, sexual orientation and life experience. Those are the things we want reflected in any new season,” explains Alon.
