Khaya was forced to work as a prostitute in Mam Rebecca’s secret brothel The Black Door to repay the money his murdered brother Chuma stole, and Boniswa relapsed, unaware that her boyfriend nurse was drugging her.
IN THIS ISSUE
Khaya and his sister Thenjiwe stress when they realise they can’t afford their mother Nomsa’s medication, and Mam Rebecca welcomes back Khaya with open arms. Boniswa and Nkanyiso dig through the business books, and Romeo gives Khaya a pep talk before he meets his first official client at The Black Door. Nkanyiso lies to his girlfriend about new medication, and Khaya is asked to do something difficult. Mam Rebecca’s tender deal is approved and she’s able to re-hire her retrenched workers at the factory, and Khaya gets a motherly talk from Mam Rebecca about his performances with her clientele.
Nomsa confronts Khaya and wants to know if he’s working for “the lowlife” Mam Rebecca, thinking that he’s working in her factory. Boniswa feels like she’s been drugged but she doesn’t realise that Nkanyiso is taking advantage of her, and Khaya refuses a client and she takes the matter to Mam Rebecca. Thenjiwe moves out of the Sokhulu home after another blow-up, and Nkanyiso plays the supportive boyfriend role when Boniswa comes crying to him. Mam Rebecca is getting tired of bailing Khaya out of his messes with his clients at The Black Door, Romeo tries to help Khaya find his place in the brothel, and Khaya is heartbroken when he sees his love interest Nandi at church with Jupiter. Khaya’s plan falls apart in spectacular fashion, and Nkanyiso reports back to Mam Rebecca with good news.
