History is full of facts and mysteries and adventurer Don Wildman is the king of history. The 61-year-old has made a career out of unlocking history’s secrets with shows like Mysteries At The Museum. But for Cities Of The Underworld, “We’re going deep… literally under cities to see what secrets they hold,” says Don. “There’s more than just concrete under your feet. There’s mazes and pipelines and construction you’d never imagine! And we’re only getting started with our learning!”
He wanted to be an actor and 1 studied at the The Drama Studio in London, England. “I tried and it was fun, but I realised I wasn’t going very far when I booked one TV commercial job in about two years,” he says.
Don joined The Travel Channel in 2 2003 and made his debut as host in the doccie series Weird Travels, a show about paranormal destinations across the United States.
The Philadelphia-born star admits 3 that he’s neurotic about packing. “I spend hours packing, which is difficult since I fly somewhere about every 10 days. I shudder to think how much of my life is expended folding clothes and closing suitcases,” says Don.
When he goes to parties, he likes 4 to talk to the waitstaff. “Mostly it’s because they’re the people in the room who aren’t trying hard to impress and that makes for a more interesting person than the talkers,” adds Don. He dreamt of owning a British 5 sport car and he’s doing it – he’s restoring a vintage ’73 MG Midget. Besides scuba diving, Don loves 6 flying and he’s studying towards his small-craft pilot license. “I want my own plane, so let’s see,” he jokes.
