Family dramedy show Survivor’s Remorse has four seasons but tonight’s season 2 finale is the last fans will see of actor Mike Epps and his colourful character Uncle Julius. “I asked for a pay rise and they killed me off. That’s what happens when people like producers get greedy and they don’t want to share. They get rid of the people who helped them get that success,” says Mike, who says that he’s still sad seven years after leaving the show in 2015. “Of course it still stings. I had a lot of good times and friends on the show. I didn’t throw a tantrum or make unreasonable demands.”
But Mike does actually have a 1 history of being temperamental and letting his anger get the better of him. In 2018, he and fellow comedian actor Kevin Hart (Mouse in the Jumanji fantasy movies) got into a war of words on social media, with Kevin calling Mike “a sad, jealous, bitter old man.”
Mike allegedly had his bodyguards 2 assault a little-known comedian for making a joke about his feud with Hart. The 51-year-old admits that his 3 mental health isn’t in a good state, adding that “my anxiety has been worse than ever since about 2014. I sleep about four hours a night and I’ve broken four treadmills in the past two years from overuse. I run a lot to de-stress.”
He’s worth $20 million (R293 million) 4 and owns 10 fried chicken fast-food restaurants in Los Angeles. Mike doesn’t really like fried food 5 though and says that he has considered going vegan for years. “I like my steak and sushi. I’d eat sushi every day if I could,” he says.
He stopped swearing in his shows 6 in 2018 for his young daughter.
