Dinner for three

Nkosi invites his babymama Mampho and girlfriend Shoki to a dinner date that ends with fake smiles and chaos.

-

It’s only a matter of time until Nkosi Zwide (Wanda Zuma) and his pregnant ex-fling Mampho (Gaisang Noge) welcome their baby. Before she gives birth though, Nkosi makes a desperate final attempt to broker peace between Mampho and his girlfriend Shoki (Shalate Sekhabi)…

It’s no secret that the two women can’t stand each other, let alone be in the same room. But Nkosi is about to change that this fortnight – or at least try. “He arranges a dinner with the two women at a fancy restaurant but there’s a twist,” reveals Wanda. Mampho and Shoki are under the impression that the meal is for two, so they’re shocked when they arrive at the same time to meet Nkosi and see each other at the restaurant. “They try to leave but Nkosi works his magic and he convinces them to stay and resolve their differences,” adds the actor. The evening starts off on a tense note and things don’t go as Nkosi had hoped.

PLAYING PRETEND

Nkosi isn’t the only one with tricks up his sleeve. At dinner, Mampho and Shoki change tunes and they bury the hatchet. Suddenly, the women make small talk and they laugh at each other’s jokes. “Nkosi is pleased to see Mampho and Shoki making an effort. He desires a blended family, and the only way that will work is if both women get along,” explains Wanda. However, it’s all a front as Mampho and Shoki pretend to have cleared the air just to appease Nkosi.

Realistically, it will take much more than a dinner date for the women to make amends and that’s because Shoki resents Mampho for cheating with

Nkosi in November 2021, which resulted in her pregnancy. It’s no different for Mampho, who equally despises Shoki. Even after Mampho’s countless efforts at attempting to separate Shoki and Nkosi, the couple emerge stronger. But Mampho and Shoki can’t pretend to get on forever; the curtain will soon fall.

BATTLE LINES ARE DRAWN

Days after the surprise dinner, Mampho and Shoki see each other at the Zwide home. When Nkosi is with them, they exchange fake smiles, but he steps out to take a phonecall. “When the women are alone, their true colours come out and they have a nasty exchange,” says Wanda. The fiery argument quickly turns physical. “I’m sworn to secrecy regarding the fight, but I can reveal that the incident will test Nkosi and Shoki’s romance while it also brings him closer to Mampho,” Wanda says…
