To a grinding halt
Bhengu’s playboy ways are about to come to an end.
Bhengu (Thokozisa Ziqubu) may be used to having his bread buttered on both sides, but dating sisters Buhle (Ntokozo Mzulwini) and Beauty (Lerato Bhengu, the show couldn’t provide a photo) soon catches up to him as he realises he can’t juggle both women. “Bhengu decides to call things off with Beauty, but before he can do that, he’s told that Beauty has been involved in a serious car accident and has been admitted into Durban General. This is a sticky situation for him since he works at the hospital and Beauty’s family, including Buhle, are now always there during visiting hours until Beauty will be discharged,” explains the actor Thokozisa. And more trouble is on the way for the confused Romeo and it might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

When Bhengu started dating the sisters, he never expected to fall in love. It was all a game for him, and he was planning on using the women for his personal pleasure. But Bhengu’s heart took over. “In the midst of playing with the sisters’ emotions, Bhengu realised that he’s fallen in love with Buhle and that he’s going to dump Beauty,” says Thokozisa. But with Beauty still recovering from her car accident, Bhengu decides that it’s better to write a letter to Buhle confessing his love rather than saying it out loud right now. “But unfortunately for him, the letter accidentally falls out of his pocket and makes its way to Beauty, who thinks that Bhengu has written it to her,” says the actor, adding that there’s even more drama because his character is going to bump into the sisters together. “He gets caught out. He’s like a deer in the headlights and he doesn’t know what to do. He’s caught between a rock and a hard place.”
DISGRACEFUL PAYBACK
Gossip makes its way around the hospital and soon Bhengu becomes the laughing stock among his male peers for playing with fire and getting burnt. “It’s so bad that Bhengu starts to wish that he was dead – especially when he finds out that his name is on a naughty list and he has nowhere to hide from the sisters’ scorn.” Beauty and Buhle had no idea that they were dating the same man, so now they plan devious revenge on him. “I can’t tell you what it is, but I can say this: Bhengu is going to have to rush to the hospital for medical assistance himself,” says Thokozisa. “He tries to hide from his colleagues so that they don’t find out what has happened, and he’s also got a conference coming up where he’s going to have to hide his identity so that no one knows he’s a doctor from Durban Gen hospital. He’s made his bed…”

Mbali is stunned after Doctor Dhlomo threatens her again, Thembi tries to avoid Alfred and his nasty breath, and Zandile falls sick during surgery. Thembi’s day in the ambulance is a total nightmare due to Alfred’s bad breath, Lindelani receives a warm welcome on his return to the hospital, and Phumeza bursts Sne’s bubble by rejecting her dinner invitation. MacGyver says that he’s back at Durban Gen following time off from work, Zandile seeks support during her emotional meltdown, and Sihle causes further stress for Thembi.
Zandile’s mental state becomes a concern for her family and friends at the hospital and she later collapses, the staff of Durban General encounter an imposter among them, and Mbali’s wild night is ultimately met with accusations from Agatha. Zandile gets a written warning from Thabo and she wishes that she could bring back the dead, and the imposter receives a harsh warning from Qwabe but it’s not enough to scare him off. The search for MacGyver is on in full force, Zandile’s past actions come back to bite her when she finds herself in a desperate situation and all alone, and despite her attempts to be nice, Zandile is met with hostility. Thembi is in need of a new ambulance partner, and both of the MacGyvers are fired.
