Guy! Hawaiian Style

-

Season 1 Food Network (*175) 19:55 Lifestyle

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is always ready for an adventure if it includes wild new destinations and plates full of food. And for his newest show, he’s taking a break from his reality competition series and he’s heading to the islands of Hawaii – with his family! “If Hawaii offers it, we try it,” says Guy, who’s taking his wife Lori, sons Hunter and Ryder and nephew Jules to explore the island’s culture and cuisine in four-part lifestyle series Guy! Hawaiian Style.

During the 20-day holiday journey, the Fieri family take part in activities from scuba diving, to clay shooting inside an old volcano, and even getting traditional tattoos. “We do it all, whether it’s on land or sea. The best part is that viewers come along for the incredible ride,” adds 54-year-old Guy. “This show is different from everything viewers have seen before because this isn’t about food – this is about family and bonding.” And the chef adds that he’s very different around his loved ones to what people know. “I’m still eccentric and my hair is in place and I’ve got those hilarious catchphrases, but my nature with my family is different.”

There will be loads of food on show but this time Guy isn’t in his red convertible made famous in Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, which stopped off in Hawaii for various episodes since 2010. Instead, he is taking his family to try out different types of foods, from the exotic to the traditional. “There’s nothing better than a couple of beers, a tiki bonfire on the beach and eating pineapple and some of the best fish ever caught,” says Guy. “We’re showing our viewers Hawaii – and me – in a way that they’ve never seen before, that’s what makes this show amazing. That’s what makes this show different to anything I’ve done before – and it’s hot, hot, hot!”
